Our 150th Anniversary celebration of our order was held on Saturday, July 14, 2018! This was the 130th celebration of our own lodge, established on July 12, 1888.

We are celebrating more than 150 years of service to the community!

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) was established in New York City on February 16, 1868 and founded by Charles A. Vivian as a fraternal order under the name "Jolly Corks" by 15 actors, entertainers and others associated with the theater. In subsequent years, membership expanded to other professions.

The Elks organization now has nearly a million members in its 141-year history as a benevolent, charitable organization with more than 2000 lodges across the United States. The B.P.O.E. is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Established in 1928, the Elks National Foundation is the charitable arm of the BPOE, benefiting Veteran and youth services.

In Washington State, the Elks Association supports the Elks National Service Veterans Program, Elks Therapy Program for Developmentally Challenged Children, Seattle Children’s Hospital (since 1926), Soccer Shoot and Hoop Shoot athletic programs, college scholarships, and the Elk Vocational Grant, among others.
