Lodge Building Update

Current project status as of 5/28/2021:

Seattle Elks Lodge No. 92's renovation project is moving forward at a fast pace, as Mallet drives work from the completed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems installation towards the finish construction. We are still waiting for Seattle City Light and Seattle Public Utilities to bring power to the building and to upgrade the water service for the sprinkler system, respectively, but expect these significant tasks will be accomplished in the next six weeks. Additionally, the building permit revision approvals are in hand, which include the improvements implemented since the project commenced in early November, 2020.

In the last month, the project passed the significant milestone of achieving cover inspections from Seattle and King County. This has allowed for the building interior and exterior finishes to start as the work moves toward completion in early to mid-October, 2021, which is a mere 4 ½ months away! The work accomplished since the cover inspections includes drywall installation and taping on all floors, gypcrete flooring slab installation on the second floor, installation of windows and exterior doors, and preparations for installing the kitchen hood and elevator.

The next few months will include installation of some fantastic finishes throughout the space, including interior doors, cabinetry and counters, floor finishes, paint finishes, fireplace hearth and mantle, bathroom tile and partitions, exterior siding, decking and deck railings, entry canopy, and potentially building signage. The EBC and Mallet team continue to solve whatever problems come up as a unified team, and are always looking for cost-effective ways to improve the space so that the Seattle Elks’ new home will be the best it can be.

Respectfully Submitted,

Seattle Elks #92 Board of Directors
